Technology: Mac Time Machine

I am a mobile applications developer and I want to use Time Machine on my Mac. Unfortunately, I have limited funds and wanted to use the external USB drive on my Windows' computer, but I would have to reformat it and lose all the other backups I have on there. What is the cost of a reliable USB drive that has over 280Gb of storage?

I bought the MyPassport for Mac and paid about $105. It has 1Tb of storage and was easily configured for Time Machine use.

I was followed on Twitter by this online company. They look very sensible and have a great product concept.
